Rochas to Close

WWD just broke the news that French fashion house Rochas is closing. I am shocked because Olivier Theyskens was really beginning to do wonderful things with the label and it was obvious he would do great things in the industry. Proctor & Gamble met with workers today to make the first steps towards closing the house -- ending a long history of Rochas which began in 1925 under Marcel Rochas. Current designer Olivier Theyskens won International Designer of the Year from the CFDA earlier this year and became a favourite of critics.

Though Rochas will be no more Olivier hopefully has a long fashion career ahead of him at other labels.
